Hospitality Mode

EFTPOS Air has a suite of features that can be used to drive your hospitality business. Including capabilities for order management, dine-in and takeaway experiences, EFTPOS Air's Hospitality Mode will support your business needs.

You can change modes by navigating to More > Business Settings > Business Mode, choosing Hospitality mode and then tapping Select This Mode.

Orders

EFTPOS Air's orders system is essential to Hospitality mode and allows you to keep track of outstanding orders for your hospitality environment. Through this feature, you can view current open orders that require payment and an archive of past orders.

Open Orders

The open orders menu allows you to view all outstanding orders that have not been paid. Each order displays the following:

  • Order Delivery Method: This will either be a Takeaway or Dine-in order.
  • Order Number: Both Takeaway and Dine-in delivery methods have their own unique order number systems.
  • Order Time
  • Item Count and Order Subtotal
  • Add Items: If the order needs to be amended to add further items (such as ordering dessert), the items menu will be displayed.
  • Pay

Closing Orders

When a dine-in order has paid for, the order is not automatically closed. Tap on Mark as Closed to close the order.

Order History

The order history menu displays past orders, their table, reference, subtotal and order state. Tapping on an order entry will provide further details, such as viewing the order receipt and provide further actions, such as refunding the order.

Order Actions

Orders have a few actions that can be performed on them, some actions can only be performed before any payments have been made.

Action Description
Void This effectively invalidates the order but will keep a copy for your records. The copy will be stored in the Paid tab.
Only available if no payments have been made against an order.
Print Bill This allows for an order item list and subtotal to be printed out to a connected printer.
Only available if no payments have been made against an order.
Pay This allows you to make a payment against the order. You can either make a full or split payment. If you make a split payment the order will remain in the Orders tab, otherwise, it will move to the Paid tab.
Only available if no payments have been made against an order.
Mark as Closed If the order has been paid off, the order can be closed and added to the history tab.

Dine-in

Using the Dine-in feature requires the Table Management feature to be already set up.

Current dine-in orders can be viewed using the Dine-in tab, allowing you to view orders allocated to each table. To change the view, tap on the button in the top right corner of the app.

The list view displays the available tables and their seating capacity, in addition to tables that are currently occupied and may have outstanding orders. Each section of the table management setup has a dropdown menu that outlines how many tables it contains.

In contrast, the map view allows you to see the location of tables, their seating capacity and whether they are occupied. This can be useful to visually represent seating arrangements and easily guide customers to their tables.

Tapping on a table in either of these views with an active order allows you to view the order but tapping on an empty table will initiate an order that is assigned to the specified table.

Takeaway

Takeaway transactions are not assigned to any table and don't utilise the existing table management features. Instead, the takeaway menu allows you to directly enter an amount into the register keypad or tap on items to add them to the current order.

Takeaway Order

When takeaway orders are paid for, they are automatically created as a paid order under the Orders tab and sent to a printer.

You can send the order to the kitchen prior to payment by tapping the Create Order button after expanding the order (^) menu.
